Top Makeup Obsessions for Deep Complexions

on

I have always been on the hunt to find beauty products that compliment my deeper complexion. Over the last three years, I have found the perfect products that have made it into my makeup routine quite often. These products are under $20.00 and are all from respectable brands.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow: Lightning Bug

Colourpop’s super shock shadows are so versatile and are super easy to use. My favorite shade is lightning bug. I can use it to create a look for fancy or casual events. I don’t use any makeup brushes when applying this shimmery shadow.

It is a foiled gold color that looks amazing on its own or on top of mattes. If I want my look to turn out brighter, I do an orange matte underneath lightning bug. I also blend out dark brown mattes as a base and press the super shock shadow all over my lid to create a pigmented look. Even though this is a pigmented shade, you can use it on its own and create a natural and light look.

Elf Blush

This product is the perfect palette for deeper complexions. This blush palette costs around $6.00 and comes with four beautiful shades. There is one shimmery shade and three matte shades.

I love blending the shades together to get my desired look, specifically the bottom two. I use the bottom right as my matte blush and I tap a little bit of the bottom left as a slight shimmery blush topper on top of the matte.

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Higlighter: Go With the Glow

This liquid highlighter is the only highlight you need. It is super affordable and is easy to travel with. It costs around $6.00 and can be found at local drugstores, Ulta, etc.

A little goes a long way and this product has helped me achieve a dewy makeup look. You can use it to highlight the arches of your cheeks, your nose and even use it as a lid color for your eyeshadow. You can also mix a drop of the highlighter with your foundation to create a glowing base.

Burt’s Bees Lip Gloss: Sweet Sunset

This is another product that can be found at a local drugstore and will never leave your purse. The lip gloss in the shade sweet sunset is the perfect nude lip gloss for most people with deep complexions.

While this lip gloss shines, it does not have a lot of shimmer which is perfect for both casual and fancy events. I use this almost every time I wear makeup and there is enough product in the tube to last for quite some time. I have worn this gloss alone, on top of a matte lipstick and underneath other glosses.
